The Huka Prawn Park is an aquaculture venture and tourist attraction located 10 minutes north of Taupo. It was started in 1987, and is currently New Zealand's only prawn farm.〔(【引用サイトリンク】publisher=Huka Prawn Park )〕 It can produce over 30 tonnes of prawns a year. The Huka Prawn Park grows giant Malaysian river prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergii), by using geothermal waste water from the Contact Energy Wairakei geothermal powerstation. It uses 250 tonnes per hour in summer and 400 tonnes in winter of over 90 °C geothermal waste waster in a system of heat exchangers to heat water from the Waikato River to rear the prawns.〔 The park offers activities such as prawn fishing, guided tours of the park, and a hole-in-one golf challenge.〔(【引用サイトリンク】publisher=Great Lake Taupo )〕 Huka Prawn Park has become one of the major draw-cards for tourists to the Taupo region. It now has more than 75,000 visitors a year, with a large number of Chinese among the international visitors. It uses a mascot, Shawn the Prawn, for tourism and marketing purposes. Riverside Restaurant located at Huka Prawn Park is ideal for relaxing and enjoying a lovely meal. While the a la carte menu of course features home grown prawns in a variety of tempting dishes, there is also a great range of delicious ‘non-prawn’ dishes, along with scrumptious desserts, muffins, great coffee and an impressive selection of New Zealand wines and Beers. The stunning location complements the menu perfectly. The Huka Prawn Park can also be hired for private evening functions. On the banks of the Waikato River, the Riverside Restaurant can seat over 200 people. The unique activities such as Prawn Fishing and Killer Prawn Golf are ideal for team building. You won't find a dinner venue like this anywhere else in New Zealand. == References == 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Huka Prawn Park」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
